Our Story: Built on Loyalty, Trust, and Second Chances
Our Story
Furvana Dogs wasn’t born in a boardroom; it began at a local park in Visalia in 2023.
I met Chief when he was just a six-month-old Aussie/German Shepherd pup. The moment we made eye contact, there was an unmistakable spark. He was calm, perceptive, and had distinctive white markings on his paws that set him apart. For $30, we walked away together, completely unaware of just how much we would end up needing each other.
Not long after, life took a difficult turn. Navigating a painful and turbulent chapter, Chief became my anchor. In the moments when everything felt overwhelming and uncertain, he was right beside me—resting his head on my lap, offering quiet comfort without condition, and reminding me that better days were ahead. Chief gave me the grounding and purpose I needed to keep going. We rebuilt our lives side by side, creating a home defined by calm, mutual respect, and unconditional love.
Our Philosophy: Translating the Canine Voice
Experiencing the depth of Chief’s loyalty transformed the way I view dogs. It showed me that our companions are straightforward, compassionate, and constantly trying to communicate with us—if we only take the time to learn their language.
At Furvana, our foundation is built on one simple belief: there are no bad dogs.
Dogs are driven by survival instincts, clear boundaries, and natural cues inherited from their ancestry. When behavioral friction happens, it doesn't mean a dog is flawed, and it doesn't mean an owner has failed. It simply means there is a breakdown in communication.
Our mission is to act as that translator. By utilizing humane, science-based methods (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive - LIMA), we empower owners to step in as confident, calm guides rather than relying on frustration or intimidation. We want families who are feeling overwhelmed or considering rehoming to discover that with patience, structure, and understanding, any relationship can be restored.
Meet Eric: Founder & Head Trainer
Today, Furvana is dedicated to working one-on-one with owners to turn daily stress into lifelong partnerships. As an apprentice trainer studying canine ethology and applying science-based LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) principles, my mission is to help you understand your dog’s natural language and build genuine trust.
Chief showed up when I needed him most, and I promised him a life full of safety, joy, and purpose. Through Furvana, I am extending that exact same promise to you and your dog.
